“With a prolific tradition of Necronomicons in existence, what need do we really have of another? To be succinct, this “Necronomicon Anunnaki Bible” provides the reader with access to some of the oldest and most powerful traditions in our history. The “cradle of civilization” is often considered to be ancient Mesopotamia, and if the roots of civilization in general might be found there, certainly we can trace the majority of our religious and spiritual heritage to that region, particularly to Sumer and Babylon.
There is delightfully minimal commentary involved in the book. Joshua Free includes an introduction to the book in general, and to each section of the book. These introductions are very economical, in that they are information intensive, yet say little which is unnecessary. In essence, they inform the reader of the context and nature of the texts introduced, and provide some frame of reference as to where the texts fit within the Mardukite tradition. The remaining content of the book consists of copious translations of ancient texts from principally Babylon and Egypt. These are incredibly informative, and are so organized as to highlight the harmonies between ancient traditions.
Certainly, anyone interested in the history of the occult traditions, the Simon Necronomicon, or even the history of religion will find this book invaluable for its compilation of the authentic source material of many of our traditions. The only caveat to this is that the reader must be willing to displace dogma and read with an open mind in order to gain any real insight from this book. One does not need to agree with the interpretations offered, but they easily offer very worthwhile food for thought.”

“Forget Lovecraft. So many people are adamant about pointing out the obviousness of his <em<Necronomicon being an idea in a work of fiction. That’s right, it is. It is an idea, which is why the N-word is included in the title. Simon also presented a Necronomicon, and while considered valuable for those who have actually put into practice the contents of his book, some consider the work to be incomplete. The “Necronomicon Anunnaki Bible” edited by Joshua Free runs along the same vein as Simon, in that it presents a Mesopotamian-inspired system of magick. But it is much more than that. The inclusion of the word “Bible” in the title is very suitable as it includes a huge collection of lore pertaining to man’s origins and the gods that originally governed the planet, much like the Holy Bible itself.
As I understand it, the author founded a research organization whose goal was to re-discover the original system of magick and religion. Their investigating began with the earliest writings available, the clay tablets unearthed from the Middle-East inscribed in cuneiform. From those translations came most of the contents of this book. Much of the material revolves around mythology, mostly Babylonian but also including Egyptian and a few others, but there are also guidelines for applying the knowledge. In the end, this is a revival effort, an attempt to reconstruct the oldest spiritual system known to man.
As practicality goes, some of the information is cryptic, or maybe some aspects are flexible and require experimentation, but there is much to be found. Because of the sheer volume of this book, more than one reading will most likely be required to absorb all the information. “Chapters” are comprised of tablets whose designation determined the order, so the information is not necessarily read in order from the first page to the last. The style of magick is more of a “priestly” approach, a way of life, as opposed to randomly lighting a candle, making a wish while drawing out a sigil, and knowing that thy will be done as you blow out the flame. The system presented centers around spiritual evolution rather than material gains.
If you’re looking for Lovecraft’s Necronomicon, look elsewhere for you will be most disappointed with this title. Why anyone would even want that version to be real is beyond my comprehension. But if you’re looking for wisdom from some of the world’s oldest writings, this is a valuable resource. It’s also worth noting that the “Necronomicon Anunnaki Bible” is the foundation for many works by Joshua Free, and many of his other books refer to this one for additional information or to elaborate certain ideas.”

Years before the arrival of the NECRONOMICON ANUNNAKI BIBLE, the 2008 public inception of the modern Mardukite movement greatly derived from knowledge gleaned from previous materials by Joshua Free (including those written as “Merlyn Stone” in the 1990’s). The most fundamental of these – the ARCANUM – based in part on materials from the SORCERER’S HANDBOOK (recently available in its 20th Anniversary edition) and works now composing the DRUID COMPLEAT anthology by Joshua Free, including the DRACONOMICON and the BOOK OF ELVEN-FAERIE, the latter being once only available exclusively to members of the Mardukite “Inner Circle” of Chamberlains.

Joshua Free completed the work for BOOK OF ELVEN FAERIE in 2005, forming, in part, a premise to base a magical, mystical, spiritual and historically apt modern revival called: Mardukite. The book is quite enigmatic – the very concepts themselves being enigmatic and a true understanding required an entire re-evaluation of semantics and terminology so conveniently impressed upon the masses. Work of this second inner group of initiates previously educated on the same “Mardukite” ‘baseline’ would emphasize the more distant and esoteric Egypto-Babylonian tradition – such as is reflected in the development what is now known as the ‘Mardukite Core‘ (this time based on the NECRONOMICON ANUNNAKI BIBLE edited by Joshua Free) developed from 2008-2012.

As proposed in BOOK OF ELVEN-FAERIE – also found within the DRUID COMPLEAT anthology by Joshua Free – Mesopotamia was only the beginning. As time and geography took its hold onto the ancient source traditions, it… evolved! If it can be said that this ancient stream is indeed our well-spring of civilization – examined very intensely in the NECRONOMICON ANUNNAKI BIBLE – and if we are to try to seek the most complete “systems” that have been brought forth through time and space, there are no others that compare to both the beauty and current and functional revival relevance as the Druids. What makes this lore and legacy “occult” or “esoteric” is the fact that it remains hidden from the public mainstream, though hidden in plain sight – yet ever in the shadows. It is this process of bringing that which is hidden into the “light” that mystics have resulted in sometimes calling “enlightenment” (and perhaps too literally so). Humans would seem to have lost a feeling or a memory that perhaps was at one time “second nature” or “innate,” linking their blood to the Earth Ways. A decade before the 2008 public launch of Mardukite Ministries and publication of the complete Mardukite Chamberlains core NECRONOMICON ANUNNAKI BIBLE, Joshua Free’s debut work as “Merlyn Stone” rocked the underground New Age and THE SORCERER’S HANDBOOK revealed the precursor origins of Joshua Free’s later monumental literary masterpieces such as ARCANUM and THE DRUID COMPLEAT (including the famous BOOK OF ELVEN-FAERIE) and of course: NECRONOMICON ANUNNAKI BIBLE. The newly released 20th Anniversary edition of the SORCERER’S HANDBOOK even includes essays and articles from “Lost Books of Merlyn Stone” demonstrating origins of NexGen Systemological thought later contributing to such works as AWAKENING (SYSTEMOLOGY-101) and its companion REALITY ENGINEERING.

Joshua Free, the current director of the modern Mardukite movement, explains in the new release SORCERER’S HANDBOOK (20TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION):

“In 1995, the world was not ready for Mardukites. I worked within the paradigms that were much more accessible and did not require a lot of “background” – ritual magick, spellcraft, high psychology and even the ceremonial systems. The two methodologies I was most concerned with connecting later work I planned to accomplish (now known as “Mardukite”) was Pheryllt Druid material of Douglas Monroe and also “Simon’s” Necronomicon. This was about as close as I could come to ‘mainstream’, and even these facets of the “New Age” had been enshrouded in misguided controversy and restricted recommendations from the more publicly elite and visible organizations and group leaders. “Members” of well known groups were explicitly told not to look into these materials, just as much as the current Mardukite work has seen its share of scrutiny and disapproval from the uninitiated.”

The materials developed by Mardukite Chamberlains as NECRONOMICON ANUNNAKI BIBLE far surpassed the scope and limited understanding available from the Simon Necronomicon alone. However, prior to the 2009 Mardukite NECRONOMICON cycle by Joshua Free, the former Simon work is all we had available for the decade prior, meaning the SORCERER’S HANDBOOK and original edition of ARCANUM. These early explorations later inspired Joshua Free’s Liber-555, a complete exploration into the Simon Necronomicon specifically. This circulated underground under many titles, but most recently available as CROSSING TO THE ABYSS (by Joshua Free) or within the Mardukite Chamberlains Year-4 Core anthology HISTORY OF THE NECRONOMICON (edited by Joshua Free).

Joshua Free offers advice for the true seekers of the “Necronomicon” in the SORCERER’S HANDBOOK (20TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION):

“Simon’s Necronomicon contains no preliminary primer in the practice of magick offered, particularly concerning the Sumerian and Babylonian mythoi involved, so someone with no magickal (or cultural) foundations might have difficulty in simply opening it up and “using” it to its full potential. I would recommend obtaining a copy in addition to our “Necronomicon Anunnaki Bible” (edited by Joshua Free). While it may or may not be drawn from an actual collection titled: Necronomicon, the book does offer some practical applications of ancient magick, particularly incantations found on Chaldean, Akkadian and Babylonian tablets, such as those once housed in Borsippa, or those discovered in the royal library of Nineveh. Some of these have been dated to second millennium BCE. So therefore, it is important to understand, forsaking Lovecraftian fantasies if necessarily, that the Necronomicon as we understand it in the “occult world” today, is at the very least a symbolic embodiment of a mythos and ancient current of power that is very real and alive – even if only kept alive by obscure sects.”
